Job Description

Your primary role will be to assist and support users of the Big Data platform, such as development teams and data analysts, and to liaise with technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Master the EDH environment, including Hadoop components (Hive, Ranger, Nifi, Kafka, etc.), home-made development frameworks, and datalabs solutions (Dataiku, Jupyter).
  • Support platform users, particularly Data Analyst teams during data exploration, and liaise with technical teams within a collaborative and agile environment.
  • Guarantee the Data As A Service offer, tracking its follow-up through JIRA/Confluence.
  • Contribute to improving the offer to promote end-user autonomy while adhering to legal and security constraints.
  • Contribute to the design and model new proposals that strengthen commitments around this offer.
  • Write documentation, including the creation of notebooks and templates.
  • Assist and coach all users in the use of the EDH platform.
  • Address new needs or evolution requests, by developing scripts, writing user stories, or requesting platform upgrades.
  • Contribute to the improvement of offers to promote end-user autonomy, while respecting legal and security constraints.

You Will Interact With:

  • The Scrum Master, Tech Lead, and other support engineers.
  • Various stakeholders: Product Owner, Security team, Data Management team, Architecture and Engineering team.
  • Platform users, data analysts, data scientists, Use Cases developers, and platform operators.

Technical Expertise and Necessary Skills:

  • Knowledge of Big Data technologies, including Hadoop (Hortonworks or other distributions).
  • Knowledge of JAVA development (ability to understand/read StackTrace).
  • Good understanding of Python as a programming language.
  • Knowledge of Linux environments.
  • Good understanding of at least one public Cloud, especially Azure.
  • Good understanding of tools like Dataiku and Jupyter Notebook.
  • Good to be Advanced Dataiku Certified.
  • Good understanding of Data Visualization tools such as Qlik View, Power BI, and Qlik Sense.
  • Good to have understanding of Data Modeling.
  • Culture of using DevOps / Ansible.
  • Culture in project management/monitoring and Agile culture.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with Use Case teams.
  • Experience in setting up and deploying projects in production.
