Responsibilities:
Ontology Development:
- Design and implement ontologies based on BFO and CCO principles, aligned with business needs and industry standards
- Collaborate with domain experts to formalize domain knowledge into reusable ontological structures
- Develop and maintain ontologies modeling business entities, relationships, and processes
Data Modeling:
- Create semantic and syntactic data models adhering to ontological principles
- Design scalable, flexible, and adaptable data models to accommodate evolving business needs
- Integrate data models into existing data infrastructure and applications
Knowledge Graph Implementation:
- Design and build knowledge graphs based on defined ontologies and data models
- Develop tools and algorithms for knowledge graph population, enrichment, and maintenance
- Leverage knowledge graphs for advanced analytics, intelligent search, and recommendations
Data Quality and Governance:
- Ensure high-quality, accurate, and consistent ontologies, models, and knowledge graphs
- Define and enforce data governance processes for ontology and model lifecycle management
Collaboration and Communication:
- Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and stakeholders to translate data requirements into ontological solutions
- Communicate complex data and semantic modeling concepts clearly across technical and business teams
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering or a similar technical role
- Proven experience in developing ontologies using BFO, CCO, or equivalent frameworks
- Deep understanding of semantic web technologies: RDF, OWL, SPARQL, SHACL
- Proficient in Python, SQL, and related data engineering tools
- Experience with graph databases (e.g., TigerGraph, JanusGraph) and triple stores (e.g., Stardog, GraphDB) is a plus
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with machine learning and NLP techniques
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Exposure to Databricks tools and technologies: Spark, Delta Lake, Iceberg, Unity Catalog, UniForm, Photon
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
