Data Engineer

The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and supporting data and analytics systems.
He/she is responsible for integrating raw data to make it usable by connecting systems and transforming the data.
He/she analyzes the needs expressed by the metiers, by appropriating their processes and language. He/she proposes and documents solutions that comply with the Michelin Group's requirements in terms of security, reliability, and confidentiality.
He/she ensures the quality, performance, security, orchestration, and observability of data pipelines.

Analysis and design
. Collaboration with data analysts, business analysts, and data scientists is implemented to understand needs, integrate relevant data, and design solutions.
Implementation and deployment
. Data from various sources (databases, APIs, files, connected objects, etc.) is collected and transformed by automating its ingestion, cleaning, structuring, and enrichment to make it reliable, consistent, and directly usable.
. Automated and robust data pipelines are developed and maintained to ensure smooth, secure, and efficient access to data.
. Data flow quality and security controls are implemented, integrating validation, monitoring, and traceability mechanisms.
. Data flows are modeled and structured in accordance with architectural standards, security and confidentiality rules (e.g., GDPR, internal policies) and are documented to ensure the maintainability of solutions.
Support and assistance
. Malfunctions, incidents, or bugs are analyzed, understood, and resolved, and root cause analyses are performed.
. Technical assistance is provided to Data Stewards, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists.
