Data Engineer

Your Responsibilities / What To Expect

• Data Architecture & Medallion Logic: You will systematically transfer raw data into a modern Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and continuously expand it.
• Data Integration & Connectivity: You will ensure the seamless connection of various source systems (e.g., SAP, SQL Server, MySQL, project management software, and Google Sheets) to our data warehouse in Google BigQuery.
• Pipeline & Script Development: You will write high-performance scripts (primarily in Python) for data pipelines and innovative document automation.
• Data Cleansing & Monitoring: You will proactively resolve raw data errors or prevent them entirely using clever scripts and real-time monitoring to guarantee top-tier data quality.
• Data Visualization: You will design insightful and dynamic Tableau Dashboards built directly on data from Google BigQuery.
• Automation & Innovation: You will implement straightforward automations using RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and develop smart queries.
• Collaboration: You will work closely with your process architects, controlling, data warehouse colleagues and analysts to provide production-ready datasets.
• Documentation: You will keep our system landscape transparent by structurally documenting the technical architecture according to the arc42 standard.
  
  

Required (Must-have)

• Education: A successfully completed degree in (Business) Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable qualification with a strong IT focus.
• Tech Stack & Coding: Proficient skills in Python, SQL, and experience working with Microsoft or cloud-based data architectures.
• Databases: Practical experience with relational databases (e.g., SAP, SQL Server, MySQL) and NoSQL systems.
• Cloud & DWH: Proven experience with the Google Cloud Suite, specifically Google BigQuery and Google Sheets.
• BI Tools: Strong practical experience in creating dashboards with Tableau.
• Mindset: A structured, analytical approach to work, marked by a high commitment to data integrity, security, and performance.
  
  

Desirable (Nice-to-have) – Perfect For Your Professional Growth

• Initial exposure to the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold), as well as Google Vertex, App Script, or App Sheets.
• First insights into Supervised Machine Learning and descriptive data analysis.
• Basic knowledge of process automation (RPA).
• Experience with the arc42 documentation standard.
• Growth Mindset: You bring a strong willingness to learn and are eager to dive into new technologies alongside experienced data warehouse colleagues.
