A Day in the Life of Data Engineer!
As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in enabling L'Oréal's data-driven transformation by designing, building, and optimizing scalable data solutions on the
Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will develop robust data pipelines, modern data platforms, and cloud-native data architectures that power analytics, reporting, AI, and business decision-making across global business functions.

Be Responsible For The Following
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data.
- Build and manage modern cloud-based data platforms, data lakes, and data warehouses.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and security across data ecosystems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data solutions.
- Optimize data workflows and processing performance to improve scalability and cost efficiency.
- Implement data integration solutions from multiple enterprise systems, applications, and external sources.
- Support analytics, BI, and AI/ML use cases by delivering reliable and accessible datasets.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues related to data pipelines and platforms.
- Follow DevOps and DataOps best practices including CI/CD, automation, testing, and monitoring.
- Contribute to data architecture discussions and support the evolution of L'Oréal's global data strategy.
What are we looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer.
- Strong experience working on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and related GCP services.
- Strong expertise in SQL and advanced data modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in Python and experience developing scalable data pipelines.
- Experience building ETL/ELT solutions using cloud-native and modern data engineering frameworks.
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache Spark and distributed data processing technologies.
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow/Cloud Composer.
- Knowledge of data lake, data warehouse, and lakehouse architectures.
- Experience integrating data from enterprise applications, APIs, databases, and streaming platforms.
- Strong understanding of data quality, data governance, metadata management, and security best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, DevOps/DataOps practices, and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex data processing and performance issues in cloud environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with experience working in global teams.
