About Our Client Toorak Capital Partners

You will be part of a dedicated engineering team supporting Toorak Capital Partners, a leading U.S.-based integrated correspondent lending platform that funds residential, multifamily, and mixed-use real estate loans across the U.S. and U.K. Headquartered in Summit, New Jersey, Toorak's leadership team brings deep expertise across real estate lending, capital markets, securitization, asset management, and credit. To date, Toorak-funded projects have renovated or stabilized housing for 9,000+ families averaging 500+ families every month.This is a rare opportunity to build mission-critical, cloud-based mortgage technology platforms that directly support one of the most respected players in the global mortgage finance industry. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer who brings a strong passion for data quality, reliability, and scalable architecture. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in cloud-native environments and enjoy building robust, production-grade data platforms that power analytics and business insights.

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrate consistently high engineering standards with a strong focus on data quality, reliability, and performance across all deliverables.

Design, build, and optimize cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using modern ETL/ELT frameworks such as DBT, PySpark/SparkSQL, and Airflow.

Implement data integration solutions supporting multiple patterns, including batch processing, CDC/replication, and event-driven architectures.

Apply strong expertise in data modeling, transformation logic, and data migration strategies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production-ready pipelines that meet performance, security, and governance standards.

Advocate best practices in code quality, system design, and operational excellence.

Required Skills & Experience

4+ years of overall professional experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles.

3+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including data lake and cloud data platform implementations.

Strong programming expertise in Python, SQL, and PySpark.

Experience working with databases and warehouses such as PostgreSQL, Redshift, BigQuery, and Snowflake.

Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and analytics best practices.

Hands-on experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) is highly desirable.

Exposure to data governance, metadata management, and data lineage is an added advantage.
