About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Lead – Data Engineering to lead the design, implementation, and delivery of enterprise-scale data engineering solutions. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise and strong leadership capabilities to manage a team of 10–15 Data Engineers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end project delivery, ensuring technical excellence, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Based in Pune with a hybrid work model, this position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge data platforms and contribute to Narwal's growth in the AI and Data space.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess over 12 years of overall IT experience, with at least 5 years in leading Data Engineering teams. A strong background in designing and delivering enterprise cloud data platforms, along with hands-on experience in modern data architecture, is essential. Candidates should have proven leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working with geographically distributed teams. Cloud certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with Scrum Master or SAFe certifications, are preferred. A background in Financial Services, Payments, Banking, or Insurance is advantageous, as is familiarity with AI/ML data platforms and data governance frameworks.
Responsibilities
As a Technical Delivery Lead, your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of technical, managerial, and strategic tasks:
- Technical Leadership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of enterprise data engineering projects, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures. Provide hands-on support to engineering teams, review architecture and code, and promote best practices and modern data engineering patterns.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10–15 Data Engineers. Allocate work effectively, conduct design and code reviews, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Delivery Management: Own project timelines, deliverables, and quality. Manage risks, dependencies, and change requests, coordinating with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Architects, QA, and DevOps. Ensure adherence to governance standards and continuous improvement practices.
- Agile Leadership: Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize work and track progress using Agile metrics like velocity and burn-down charts.
- Stakeholder Management: Regularly communicate project status, risks, and key metrics to senior management. Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.
