Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate
Data Engineer specializing in
ETL tools to join our growing data team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining robust ETL processes to support data integration, migration, and transformation activities across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using tools like Informatica PowerCenter and related technologies.
- Extract data from a variety of structured and unstructured sources (databases, APIs, flat files).
- Transform data based on defined business rules and load it efficiently into target systems (data warehouses, data lakes, operational databases).
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize ETL workflows to ensure high performance, data accuracy, and timely data delivery.
- Analyze and resolve data issues, identify root causes, and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver reliable data solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for ETL processes, data flows, and mappings.
- Contribute to performance tuning, data quality improvement, and ETL best practices initiatives.
Primary Skills
- Hands-on expertise with ETL tools (preferably Informatica PowerCenter).
- Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, data extraction, transformation, and troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, dimensional modeling).
- Experience in data integration, data transformation, and data quality principles.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
Secondary Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting to automate data workflows.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially cloud-based ETL solutions.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience with data profiling and data quality assessment tools.
- Basic knowledge of API integration and data ingestion frameworks.
