We need a hands-on Date Engineer (DevRel) to turn that traction into a thriving developer ecosystem by owning technical content writing (Based research, experimentation & detailed code walkthrough), demos, benchmarks and community touch-points end-to-end.

What youll own (day-to-day)

Area: Technical research & blogs

Concrete outputs youll ship: Create detailed technical research blogs

Success signal: Conversion of people reading these to community & trials

Area: Benchmarks

Concrete outputs youll ship: Publish reproducible benchmarks comparing OLake vs. other tools.

Success signal: Blog post CTR & Hacker News up-votes

Area: Feature & experimentation based comparison

Concrete outputs youll ship: Try out tools with different other technologies and write blogs around it

Success signal: Docs bounce rate < 35 %

Area: Community Events

Concrete outputs youll ship: Host at least one online community meetup / month; live demo + deck

Success signal: 50 % attendee sign-ups join Slack

Area: Slack tech Q & A

Concrete outputs youll ship: Only deep tech related Q&A, escalate bugs

Success signal: 95% answer rate for tech Q & A.

Area: Product growth

Concrete outputs youll ship: Drive product growth based on customer feedback & discoveries

Success signal: Attend 70-80% customer live usage demos or discovery calls.

Must-have skill set

• Git workflow Rebase-merge, semantic commits and Markdown are second nature.
• Community presence Prior experience moderating Slack/Discord or guiding OSS contributors.
• Technical writing Explain tcp_keepalive in a GIF-friendly way.
• SQL literacy Medium level SQL query writings.
• Data engineering Should have work experience in any 2 of data engineering tools - Spark, Glue, Presto, Trino, Databricks, Apache Iceberg, Parquet formats.

Nice-to-haves

• Exposure to Airflow, dbt, Kafka
• Data ingestion - Good to have exposure to any data ingestion built.
• Prior speaking experience (meetups, podcasts, YouTube)
• Contributions to a data-infra project (even tiny PRs count!)
