Role Description This is a remote, contract role for a Data Engineer with Business Intelligence, Security, and Cloud experience, based out of Chennai, requiring approximately 8 years of relevant professional experience. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, optimizing ETL processes, and ensuring robust data warehousing solutions to support analytics and reporting. The Data Engineer will collaborate with BI and analytics teams to model data, create efficient data structures, and enable self-service dashboards and insights for stakeholders. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing data quality controls, managing cloud-based data platforms, enforcing data security and compliance standards, and troubleshooting performance issues across data workflows. Qualifications

• Strong Data Engineering skills, including designing and managing data pipelines, data integration workflows, and automation.
• Proficiency in Data Modeling and Data Warehousing to build scalable, reliable, and well-structured data repositories.
• Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools and frameworks for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
• Ability to perform Data Analytics, working with BI tools and query languages to support reporting, dashboards, and insights.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) for data storage, processing, and security implementation.
• Experience with data security practices, including access control, encryption, compliance, and monitoring of data environments.
• Approximately 8 years of experience in data engineering, BI, or related roles, preferably in complex, large-scale environments.
• Proficiency in SQL and one or more programming languages commonly used in data engineering (such as Python or Scala).
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
