Data Stewards are the driving force behind an organization's data governance & management initiatives. Data Steward will have the opportunity to shape the data landscape by collaborating with cross-functional teams and championing a culture of data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to lead in enforcing data governance policies, ensuring data integrity, quality, accuracy, reliability, and KPI fitment.
- Document and deploy consistent enterprise-wide data definitions, processes, and ownership.
- Work with the business to identify and define KPIs (Key Performance Indicator), collect required business and technical metadata, and document data flows (Data lineage) including the establishment of data quality rules and data profiling.
- Work with the business to document Data Governance related procedures, user guides and business data process maps.
- Analyze data and new requirements for data ingestion or migration.
- Deliver the data requirements following the data process maps and by performing the required data transformation steps.
- Coordinate, monitor, escalate, and remediate data quality issues and data exceptions working with business partners and data sources.
- Support or conduct engaging training sessions, for other DG team members as per requirement.
- Maintain and update data dictionaries and metadata repositories, ensuring the data lineage is well documented
- Assess data assets for quality, completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across assigned domains.
- Define and apply data quality rules, metrics, and thresholds in alignment with organizational standards.
- Perform regular data profiling and root-cause analysis to identify data issues and recommend remediation actions.
- Create, maintain, and curate metadata in the enterprise data catalog, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Classify data assets and apply standardized business definitions, technical metadata, and tags.
- Establish and maintain data lineage, ownership, and stewardship information within the catalog.
Candidate Qualification:
- Over 4 -8 years of Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data management principles, and data quality concepts.
- Proficiency in data profiling, mapping, cleansing, and data analysis using excel and SQL.
- Data analysis skills with the capability of identifying data quality issues, risks, root causes and correlating those issues with data specifications, rules and offering /facilitating recommendations for remediation plan solutions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks, and adapting to evolving data management requirements.
- Strong communication, project management, writing and presentation skills.
- A good understanding of the CPG/Retail industry and products is preferable.
- Experience with Data Governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Axon, IDQ) is preferable
- Basic proficiency in Databricks and Azure Cloud fundamentals would be added advantage
Skillset:
- Advanced proficiency expected in Microsoft Excel
- Intermediate proficiency expected in SQL.
- Basic proficiency expected in python
- Intermediate proficiency expected in Informatica AXON and IDQ
