Job Description – Data Engineer (Analytics Team)
Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated Data Engineer to join our Analytics team. The ideal candidate should have strong programming and analytical skills with hands-on experience in building, maintaining, and optimising data pipelines. You will be responsible for developing scalable ETL workflows, transforming raw data into analytics-ready datasets, and ensuring high data quality and reliability.
Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Preferred institutions: IITs, NITs, IIITs, DTU, NSUT, BITS Pilani, or other Tier-1 colleges.
Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Exceptional fresh graduates with strong internships or personal projects are encouraged to apply.
Technical Skills
- Advanced SQL with strong knowledge of joins, CTEs, window functions, query optimisation, and data modeling.
- Strong hands-on Python programming skills for building ETL pipelines, data transformation, automation, and workflow orchestration.
- Experience in designing, developing, maintaining, and optimising data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data ingestion, transformation, and scheduling.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, dashboards, and automation.
- Familiarity with relational databases, data warehouses, and cloud data platforms is a plus.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, n8n) is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain reliable and scalable ETL/ELT pipelines from multiple data sources.
- Develop Python-based data ingestion, transformation, and automation workflows.
- Optimise pipeline performance, refresh times, and overall data reliability.
- Create clean, analytics-ready datasets for reporting and business intelligence.
- Monitor data quality, troubleshoot pipeline failures, and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with analysts, product, and engineering teams to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Document pipeline architecture, data flows, and transformation logic.
