We are looking for a Data-driven Process Systems Engineer with a strong background in Chemical, or other Engineering field, and foundational Machine Learning (ML) skills to join the Smart Operations team. This role will focus on transforming operational data into insights, supporting digital transformation, replicate key AI/ML applications, and contributing to AI/ML-driven optimization across Linde's global production assets.
In this role you'll be working in the Global Artificial Intelligence team, Linde's AI global corporate division engaged with real business challenges and opportunities in multiple countries. Focus of this role is to support the Smart Operations team with existing Digital and AI products for a vast amount of uses cases across Linde's business and value chain. You'll collaborate across different business and corporate functions in international team composed of Project Managers, Data Scientists, Data and Software Engineers in Linde.

Making an impact. What will you do
- In this role, you will collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from industrial operations (process data, maintenance logs, etc.)
- Further, you will work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Develop ML/AI applications to support and improve operations of core business
- Support the replication of machine learning models for predictive maintenance, energy optimization, and anomaly detection
- Additionally, you will support the maintenance and improvement of key global applications, as well visualize data and present actionable insights to business stakeholders
- Assist in building dashboards and reporting tools using platforms like Power BI or Tableau
- You will collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Process Engineers, and IT teams to operationalize data-driven solutions
- Stay updated on digital trends in process industries and suggest innovative improvements
- Collaborate with stakeholders across global regions with broad cultural backgrounds
- You will be in charge for the algorithmic Optimization of Linde Plants and Assets
Winning in your role. Do you have what it takes
- You have a Master's degree in chemical engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field and more than two years of experience in industrial operations, process optimization, and data analytics
- Foundational experience in machine learning and AI is required for this role
- You have strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets
- Experience in managing and supporting SW applications is required, as well as experience in Python, Matlab and SQL for data analysis
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, etc.)
- Solid understanding of industrial processes and KPIs
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in international, cross-functional teams
- PhD degree in a relevant field is preferred, as well as AI knowledge and experience with industrial applications
- Experience in the industrial gases sector or process manufacturing is also preferred
- Background in Optimization, control and Dynamic Simulation management, process engineering, and engineering projects
