Data Centre Project Manager

Location: Mumbai (Hybrid | 3 days on-site, 2 days WFH)

Role Summary

Sycomp is looking for a Data Centre Project Manager to lead large-scale hyperscaler infrastructure deployment programs supporting mission-critical data center operations.

This role will drive end-to-end execution of rack integration, infrastructure deployment, operational readiness, and capacity expansion initiatives across APAC data centers.

The ideal candidate has experience managing complex deployment programs for hyperscale or enterprise environments and thrives in fast-paced operational settings requiring strong execution, cross-functional coordination, and stakeholder management.

This position works closely with engineering, Sales Operations, logistics, field operations, OEMs, and customer teams to ensure successful deployment delivery at scale.

Data Center experience is required for this role. Only candidates living in a commutable distance from the DC in Mumbai will be considered at this time.

What You'll Do

Deployment Management

• Lead hyperscale infrastructure deployment programs across the APAC region
• Manage:
• Rack integration
• Server, storage, and network deployments
• Capacity expansion initiatives
• Hardware refresh programs
• Data center migration and decommissioning (decom) projects
• Develop and maintain:
• Integrated project schedules
• Deployment roadmaps
• Resource plans
• Risk registers
• Executive reporting dashboards
• Drive operational readiness and deployment governance activities

Infrastructure Operations

• Coordinate:
• Rack build activities
• Cabling validation
• Hardware installation
• Burn-in testing
• QA/QC inspections
• Network turn-up activities
• Site acceptance testing
• Ensure compliance with deployment standards, change management procedures, and operational controls
• Manage deployment throughput while maintaining high-quality execution and schedule adherence

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner with:
• Data center operations teams
• Network engineering
• Facilities teams
• Supply chain and logistics
• Security and compliance
• OEM and integration partners
• Lead executive-level status reviews and stakeholder communications
• Drive issue resolution, escalation management, and risk mitigation across deployment programs

Governance & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain deployment governance documentation, including:
• MOPs (Method of Procedures)
• SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
• Runbooks
• Change logs
• As-built documentation
• RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports
• Track and improve key operational KPIs, including:
• On-Time Delivery (OTD)
• Rack deployment throughput
• First-pass yield
• Deployment cycle time
• Rework percentage
• SLA compliance

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• 5-7 years of experience managing infrastructure or data center deployment projects
• Experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise infrastructure programs
• Strong understanding of:
• Data center infrastructure
• Rack integration workflows
• Structured cabling
• Network deployment operations
• Hardware lifecycle management
• Operational readiness processes
• Proven experience managing cross-functional technical teams and third-party vendors
• Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
