Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, operate, and maintain critical data centre infrastructure, including Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, generators, HVAC systems, fire suppression systems, and associated building facilities.
- Coordinate and manage data centre and building landlords to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance activities are performed in accordance with agreed schedules and service levels.
- Continuously monitor facility alarms and system alerts, perform troubleshooting, and ensure timely resolution of infrastructure-related issues.
- Liaise with landlords, vendors, and service providers to address facility-related issues and ensure operational readiness of the data centre environment.
- Support after-office-hours activities, including on-call duties, emergency incident response, scheduled maintenance, and vendor coordination.
- Ensure compliance with physical security procedures and access control requirements within the data centre environment.
- Execute incident, problem, and change management processes in accordance with established operating procedures and ITIL best practices.
- Track incidents through to closure, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Support infrastructure upgrades, maintenance projects, audits, and regulatory inspections as required.
- Maintain accurate operational records, maintenance logs, and documentation.
- Prepare regular reports for management, including performance metrics, incident summaries, root cause analysis reports, risk assessments, and project status updates.
- Ensure adherence to operational, safety, regulatory, and governance requirements within a financial institution environment.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data centre facilities management or critical facilities operations.
- Prior experience working in data centre operations within a financial institution.
- Solid knowledge of critical infrastructure systems, including electrical distribution systems, UPS, generators, HVAC systems, and fire suppression systems.
- Familiarity with structured cabling systems, rack-and-stack activities, and data centre physical infrastructure.
- Experience working in high-availability, mission-critical environments with 24x7 operational support and on-call responsibilities.
- Solid understanding of Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management processes aligned with ITIL best practices.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for critical facility and infrastructure issues.
- Experience managing vendors, contractors, landlords, and third-party service providers.
- Good understanding of data centre operational standards, compliance requirements, and physical security controls.
