Data Center Technician

Summary:

This is a hands-on field-based technical role focused on the installation and maintenance of fiber optic and copper cables within Data Centers. The position involves cable patching, structured cabling activities, and a basic understanding of networking devices such as routers and switches. Candidates should have a basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and the ability to communicate in basic English. Understanding network architecture is an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Report to the designated site/location.
• Review assigned tasks for the day/week.
• Perform cable installation and related infrastructure activities.
• Work under the guidance of supervisors and team leads.
• The majority of responsibilities (approximately 90%) will involve installation activities.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree holders are eligible. Degrees such as BA, B.Com, and other basic graduate qualifications are acceptable.
• ITI candidates may be considered subject to policy requirements.
• Candidates will be required to travel to locations using their own transportation.

Required Skills:

• Fiber cable installation experience.
• Copper cable installation experience.
• Knowledge of physical infrastructure and cabling.
• Experience in ISP, structured cabling, or data center environments.
• Understanding of physical infrastructure work and experience in ISP, structured cabling, office cabling, or data center environments.
