1. Summary of the role
- Perform environment monitoring, reporting and issue remediation for systems hosted in the Data Center.
- Join a team of highly competent individuals to provide support to the ongoing operation of hosted services for internal customers to the Global Data Center.
2. Tasks and Responsibilities
- Monitor, proactively and reactively respond to changing conditions identified within the central monitoring system for a mission critical environment consisting of:
- o Over 1500 virtual servers, based in VMware and physical servers.
- Windows Server OS (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019); Standalone and Cluster
- Linux (RedHat)
- o Database environments (MSSQL and Oracle)
- o Infrastructure devices such as load-balancer and fibre channel switches
- Identify non-standard or incompliant configurations and automated resolutions to achieve a consistent and desired state
- Collaborate with colleagues and business contacts to report issues and identify the root cause and remedial actions.
- Provide regular status reports and overview of hosting environment health
- Participate in call rotation/duties
3. Additonal skills
- Experience of some or all technologies currently deployed in the data center (covered in responsibilities) with particular attention to:
- o Basic Windows Linux OS experience essential
- o Scripting in Powershell, Python or other common platform language
- o Working an Enterprise IT monitoring system
- Experience or working knowledge in ITIL processes and standards is an added advantage though not essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is essential
