Job Description
Data Center Engineer (Racking & Stacking) – Low Latency Trading
Location: Singapore
Type: Full-time
About the Role
Leading HFT firm seeking a hands-on Data Center Engineer to deploy and maintain ultra-low latency infrastructure across global colocation sites. Zero-downtime environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Rack, stack, cable, and label servers, switches, and FPGA appliances
- Manage structured cabling (fiber/copper), patch panels, and cross-connects
- Create rack diagrams, power plans, and maintain documentation
- Manage power budgets, cooling, and environmental monitoring
- Own hardware lifecycle: deployment, inventory, vendor RMA, decommissioning
- Install components: NICs, SmartNICs, FPGA cards, drives, firmware
- Deploy low-latency network gear (Arista, Cisco, Mellanox) and optics (SFP+/QSFP)
- Support precision timing (PTP, GPS)
- 24x7 on-call rotation; travel 25–40% globally
Requirements
- 5+ years data center operations (colocation/enterprise)
- Expert in racking, stacking, fiber/copper cabling
- Strong knowledge of power (PDUs, UPS), cooling, physical security
- Server hardware experience (Dell, Supermicro)
- Networking hardware familiarity (Arista, Cisco, Mellanox)
- Fiber optics: SFP/SFP+/QSFP, cleaning, basic testing
- Linux CLI skills
- Excellent documentation and SOP discipline
- Thrives in 24x7 mission-critical environments
Nice-to-Have: HFT experience, FPGA/SmartNICs, PTP/GPS, automation (Ansible/Python)
