We need a Business Analyst who can work on data pipeline, data lake, reporting, and Power BI dashboard projects. This person will talk to clients, understand their business requirements, study their current systems and reports, and explain the requirements clearly to data engineers, BI developers, and project managers. The person does not need to be a developer, but should understand data, reporting, Excel, SQL basics, and business processes.
Job Description
The Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering and documenting business, data, and reporting requirements for projects related to Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, ERP reporting, and system integrations.The person will work with business users to understand what reports they need, what data is required,where the data comes from, how KPIs should be calculated, and how the final dashboards should look.
They will also support the technical team by explaining business rules, data mapping, validation logic, and UAT scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Understand Client Requirements
The BA will speak with client stakeholders and understand their business problems, reporting needs, and current manual processes.They should be able to ask the right questions and convert business discussions into clear requirements.

Study Current Systems and Reports
The BA will understand the client's current systems such as ERP, Excel files, databases, SFTP files, or other business applications. They will identify what data is available, what reports are currently used, and what problems exist in the current reporting process.
3.
Prepare Data and Reporting Requirements
The BA will document:
What data is required
Which system the data will come from
What transformations are needed
What business rules should apply
What reports and dashboards need to be created

Define KPIs and Business Logic
The BA will work with the client to define KPIs such as sales, revenue, margin, inventory, open orders, invoice cycle time, vendor spend, and other business metrics. They must clearly document how each KPI should be calculated.

Support Data Mapping
The BA will help prepare source-to-target mapping with the technical team.

Support Power BI Dashboard Requirements
The BA will gather Power BI dashboard requirements from business users. They will define dashboard pages, filters, charts, drill-downs, user roles, and expected outputs.

The BA will help business users validate whether the data and reports are correct. They will prepare UAT test cases, track issues, coordinate with developers, and help get sign-off from the client.
