Data Architect- Pre Sales

Job Description

Role Summary

Looking for a Senior Data Architect with strong Pre-Sales + Data Modernization experience who can engage with customers, understand business/technology challenges, define solutions, develop proposals/SOWs, and work closely with Sales to shape and close opportunities. The candidate should have experience leading large-scale Data Modernization programs from strategy and assessment through architecture and execution.

• 14–18 years of experience in Data Architecture / Data Engineering / Data Consulting / Solution Architecture.
• Strong Pre-Sales / Solution Consulting experience in a customer-facing role.
• Proven experience in large-scale Data Modernization / Data Transformation programs from strategy architecture implementation/execution.
• Ability to conduct customer discovery, understand business/technology challenges and identify gaps.
• Ability to translate customer challenges into data strategy, target architecture and technology solutions.
• Strong experience creating RFP/RFI responses, technical proposals, SOWs, effort estimates and solution presentations.
• Experience working closely with Sales/Business Development to qualify, shape and close opportunities/deals.
• Strong expertise in Data Architecture, Data Warehousing, Data Lakes/Lakehouses, ETL/ELT and Data Integration.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Services.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Azure SQL, OneLake/Data Factory/Dataflows Gen2.
• Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata, Lineage and Security.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior customer stakeholders and executives.

Must-Have Skills

Data Modernization, Data & Analytics architecture, and end-to-end solutioning, ideally with exposure to large-scale transformation programs from strategy through execution

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience in legacy-to-cloud data modernization/migration programs.
• Experience across AWS / GCP in addition to Azure.
• Experience with Power BI / Tableau / Qlik.
• Knowledge of dbt, ER/Studio, Python, Spark or Scala.
• Experience developing reference architectures, accelerators and reusable solution frameworks.
• Consulting / System Integration / IT Services industry experience.
• Experience with solution estimation, delivery models and commercial/deal shaping
