Role Overview

The Data Architect will be responsible for defining and driving the enterprise data architecture strategy in partnership with growth leaders, channel partners such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure, presales/solution teams, and delivery leaders during the sales cycle.

This role will own the data solution architecture, engagement roadmap definition, and technical governance across data programs. During execution, the Data Architect will work closely with client stakeholders and internal delivery teams to ensure end-to-end solution success, alignment with business objectives, and high-quality delivery outcomes.

The role also involves mentoring technical teams and establishing architecture standards that align with client and market demands.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Strategy

• Define and implement enterprise data architecture strategies aligned with business and technology goals.

• Design scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms, data lakes, lakehouse, Snowflake, and data warehouse solutions.

• Architect end-to-end data solutions across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.

• Drive data modernization initiatives including cloud migration, platform rationalization, and analytics enablement.

• Establish architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices across data engineering programs.

Presales & Solutioning

• Partner with sales, growth, and presales teams to shape data-led opportunities into executable solutions.

• Support solution design, data platform assessment, estimation, and roadmap creation during presales cycles.

• Collaborate with channel partners such as Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake to design differentiated data architecture solutions.

• Contribute to RFP/RFI responses, solution presentations, and technical discussions with clients.

Delivery & Execution

• Guide the delivery of data programs across client engagements, ensuring architecture alignment and execution quality.

• Engage regularly with client stakeholders to understand business needs, resolve concerns, and maintain confidence.

• Provide technical oversight to Architects, Project Managers, Program Managers, and engineering teams.

• Ensure solution implementations meet performance, scalability, governance, and compliance expectations.

Governance, Data Quality & Performance

• Define and enforce data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and master data management principles.

• Monitor KPIs and architecture metrics to track delivery health and solution effectiveness.

• Review and optimize data pipelines, database performance, and integration frameworks.

• Ensure data security, reliability, and compliance across enterprise data platforms.

Leadership & Mentoring

• Mentor and coach technical teams to build strong architectural and delivery capability.

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Support capability building across data engineering and architecture teams.

Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

• 14–20 years of overall experience with strong expertise in data architecture and solution design.

• Proven experience in enterprise data architecture, data platform modernization, governance, migration, and integration.

• Deep understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, Snowflake architecture, data integration, and data analytics.

• Hands-on expertise with cloud data platforms such as Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake.

• Strong knowledge of data management principles, governance frameworks, quality management, and master data solutions.

• Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, and Synapse Analytics.

• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience working with global teams, especially US/Canada-based distributed teams and clients.

Preferred

• Experience in client-facing consulting or presales roles.

• Exposure to enterprise architecture frameworks and data operating models.

• Knowledge of industry-standard cloud and analytics ecosystems.

• Experience contributing to architecture standards or reusable solution frameworks.

• Snowflake certifications or cloud architecture certifications are an added advantage.
