Data Architect

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design, governance, and optimization of enterprise data architecture solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data modelling, integration, cloud data platforms, and enterprise data governance within large-scale, multi-vendor environments. This role will work closely with enterprise architects, development teams, and business stakeholders to define scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions aligned with organizational objectives.

This is a 12 month contract with potential extension, and we are looking for candidates that can start within 2-3 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise data architecture, data models, and integration solutions.
• Define target-state data architecture, technology roadmaps, and transformation strategies.
• Lead data migration and transformation initiatives across relational and NoSQL databases.
• Architect and support cloud-based data platforms, preferably within Microsoft Azure environments.
• Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, data ownership, and stewardship models.
• Define and implement data quality metrics, controls, monitoring mechanisms, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Review and address non-functional requirements including scalability, performance, availability, and security.
• Conduct architecture and data design reviews while providing technical guidance and governance oversight.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, solution architects, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise-wide data solutions.
• Support modernization and optimization of enterprise data platforms and integration frameworks.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Architect.
• Expertise in data architecture, data modelling, and data integration.
• Hands-on or architectural-level experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud data platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience working within large enterprise and multi-vendor environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and architectural review capabilities.
