Data Architect

Core Requirements

Experience: 8+ years in Data Engineering or Architecture, with at least 5 years

of focused experience in formal Data Modeling.

Modeling Frameworks: Mastery of Relational (OLTP) and Dimensional

(OLAP) modeling. Knowledge of modern approaches like Data Vault 2.0 or

Wide-Column modeling is highly preferred.

Tooling Expertise: Expert-level use of data modeling tools such as ER/Studio,

Erwin, or LucidChart/dbdocs for documentation.

Advanced SQL: Ability to write and optimize complex queries, stored

procedures, and triggers across multiple dialects (e.g., PostgreSQL, Snowflake,

SQL Server).

Systems Thinking: A deep understanding of how data moves—from ingestion

(ETL/ELT) to storage and finally to consumption (BI/Apps).

Feature Requirement

Modeling Depth

Proficiency in 3NF, Star/Snowflake schemas, and Slowly Changing

Dimensions (SCD).

Cloud

Infrastructure

Experience designing for cloud-native warehouses (e.g., BigQuery,

Redshift, Snowflake).

Performance

Tuning

Expertise in indexing strategies, partitioning, and execution plan

analysis.

Collaboration

Proven ability to translate business speak into technical ERDs

(Entity Relationship Diagrams).
