We are seeking a skilled and passionate Manager in Data Engineering/ Analytics to lead a portfolio of client accounts and technical delivery projects. You will be accountable for departmental performance, resource utilisation, and client satisfaction across a range of data engineering engagements. This role blends technical oversight, people leadership, and consulting acumen to drive high-impact data platform solutions for our clients.
You'll guide teams in building modern data infrastructure through cloud-native platforms and ensure SLAs/KPIs are met for our AMS clients, while empowering consultants to thrive and grow. As a trusted escalation point and practice leader, you'll uphold our high consultancy standards, foster a collaborative team environment, and contribute to strategic business development.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery (Data Engineering Focus)
- Support end-to-end delivery of data engineering projects (Databricks, Snowflake) data platforms, pipelinesensuring they meet commercial, quality, and timing goals.
- Oversee AMS processes, ensuring all SLAs and KPIs are met or exceeded.
- Ensure best practices are followed in governance, service delivery, and team leadership.
Consulting Mindset
- Shape proposals and accelerators in data engineeringe.g., reusable ingestion frameworks, ELT templates, infrastructure-as-code solutions.
- Act as a strategic partner to clients, advising on data platform strategy, architecture, and modernisation roadmaps.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Cultivate relationships with data and technology leaders, understanding their strategic data challenges.
- Guide clients through complex decisions around platform design, tooling selection, and scalability.
- Translate successful deliveries into ongoing partnerships and multi-phase platform engagements.
Collaboration & teamwork
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers, ensuring continuous professional development and technical excellence.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Partner with other practices to deliver integrated, cross-functional solutions.
Operational Excellence
- Set portfolio-wide KPIs and monitor timing, cost, and quality objectives.
- Monitor and enforce timing, cost, and quality delivery objectives.
- Proactively resolve escalations before they affect outcomes.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's in a related technical field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Manager, Senior Data Consultant or Senior Data Engineer.
- Knowledge of ITIL and AMS delivery processes.
- Proven experience in team management and people leadership.
- Excellent stakeholder and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL, and data modelling principles.
- Understanding of data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
