Role Description

Driving Data-Led Innovation and Team Leadership in Investment Banking Operations.

• We are seeking an experienced Vice President to lead our data analytics and platform strategy, with a specific focus on GCPs BigQuery and Looker.
• This role involves managing a team of data professionals, setting the strategic direction for our analytics tooling, and actively contributing to hands-on development.
• The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of Investment Banking Operations and a proven track record of leveraging data to drive significant business improvements.

• It focuses on pioneering rapid turnaround data-driven solutions (leveraging AI tooling build better solutions faster) to enhance efficiency, mitigate risk, and identify new opportunities across operations globally

Your key responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Mentorship (33%):
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team Data Analytics & Insight Generation professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous learning and skill development in BigQuery, Looker, and related technologies.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support career progression for team members.
  • Manage the analytics backlog, resource allocation, and project assignments to optimize team efficiency and impact.
• Product Strategy & Vision (33%):
  • Partner with the business to understand their operations, priorities, and identify opportunities for data-driven solutions, and define clear success metrics.
  • Drive the adoption of the teams Looker implementation, ensuring these platforms are leveraged to their full potential to deliver actionable insights.
  • Define and articulate the strategic roadmap for our BigQuery and Looker platforms within Investment Banking Operations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data warehousing, business intelligence, and cloud analytics, particularly within the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem.
• Hands-on Development & Expertise (33%):
  • Lead by example, actively engaging in the design, development, and maintenance of advanced analytical solutions
  • Architect and optimize complex BigQuery datasets, and Looker semantic layer, ensuring data quality, governance, and accessibility for the analytics team.
  • Develop sophisticated Looker dashboards and reports that provide compelling, actionable insights tailored for diverse financial markets stakeholders.
  • Apply rigorous, structured, and logical problem-solving to navigate and interpret large-scale datasets, identifying business problems, emerging trends, inefficiencies, anomalies, and behavioral shifts.
  • Contribute to the evolution of current analytics into preventative AI/ML tooling where identified patterns suggest actionable interventions, leveraging BigQuery ML and Vertex AI.

Your skills and experience

• Possesses extensive experience in data analytics, with a deep specialization and demonstrable expertise inGoogle Cloud Platform, specifically BigQuery and Looker or similar analytical technologies or platforms.
• Has a strong track record of successfully leading and managing data analytics teams, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
• Demonstrates profound experience and business knowledge within Investment Banking Operations, with a keen interest in financial markets, trade lifecycle optimization, market structures, and client behaviors.
• Excels at structured and logical problem-solving, with exceptional data literacy and critical thinking to dissect complex business challenges and identify data-driven solutions - leveraging AI tooling to scale their personal impact.
• Is an exceptional communicator and storyteller, capable of translating complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and impactful business narratives, and designing highly effective dashboards and visualizations.
• Shows strong initiative in analytical approaches, a collaborative spirit, and a proven ability to drive data-driven initiatives.
