Our client is a global investment firm that seeks to provide stable funding and capital markets services to companies seeking innovative and bespoke structured credit and asset-backed finance solutions. Their tenured experts work with clients to determine the best approach to optimize their capital and achieve their goals, across a broad range of capabilities. Our integrated platform encompasses a holistic suite of capabilities, including asset/portfolio advisory solutions, warehouse/acquisition financing solutions, whole loan purchase/sale and securitization/distribution.

The Vice President Data Analyst (Finance) will serve as a senior analytical partner within the Finance organization, responsible for transforming financial and operational data into actionable insights. This role will lead the design, building, and enhancement of analytical models, automated reporting, and data processes that support decision-making across Accounting, Strategic Finance, FP&A, Product Control and Treasury,

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in data analytics with a strong understanding of financial concepts, enabling them to act as a strategic thought partner to Finance leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

Data Strategy & Infrastructure

  • Develop and maintain scalable data models, pipelines, and databases supporting Finance's analytics needs.
  • Partner with Technology and to establish best-in-class data governance, data quality standards, and metadata management.
  • Identify and integrate new data sources (internal and external) that enhance financial reporting, performance measurement, and risk assessment.

Reporting & Visualization

  • Lead the creation of automated dashboards, financial reporting tools, and self-service analytics capabilities for Finance stakeholders.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting packages with clear narrative insights, scenario analysis, and KPI tracking.
  • Improve existing reporting processes to increase accuracy, speed, and consistency.

Advanced Analytics & Insights

  • Build predictive and diagnostic analytical models to support revenue forecasting, cost analysis, liquidity planning, and various system reconciliations.
  • Translate complex datasets into meaningful business recommendations for management.
  • Conduct ad-hoc deep-dive analyses on financial trends, variances, and operational drivers.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Work closely with Accounting, Product Control, Strategic Finance, Treasury, Operations, and Finance data stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Act as a strategic advisor by presenting data insights in a business-relevant manner.
  • Coordinate with global teams to ensure alignment on data definitions, standards, and reporting frameworks.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead and mentor analysts or junior team members based in India or globally.
  • Establish best practices in analytics, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the Finance BI & Systems function.

Qualification and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's in Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, financial analytics, or business intelligence roles.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of corporate finance, FP&A, and accounting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python/R, DAX, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (Snowflake, Azure, OCI, AWS, GCP) and modern data stack tools.
  • Proven ability to design automated reporting pipelines and analytical frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex insights to senior executives.

Preferred

  • Experience within financial services, asset management, investment banking, or fintech.
  • Prior experience building analytics functions or working in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and forecasting methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP/financial systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion, SAP, Workday Financials).

Work Arrangement & Location
  • Work hours: 2:00 PM 11:00 PM IST (supporting a US-based firm)
  • Work location: Client office in Goregaon, Mumbai (on-site presence required)
