Data Analyst

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst with 3+ years of experience in the Banking and Financial Services industry to join our Data Analytics team at a fast-growing Digital Bank. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL, Python, SAS and Advanced Excel. This role involves working closely with the Finance, Business, and Technology teams to drive data-driven financial insights, automate reporting processes, and support strategic decision-making. You will work with large datasets, build dashboards, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to turn data into a competitive advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain reports for the Management (MI), Business and other functions consumption to answer critical business questions, proactively identify notable trends and communicate business performance in a clear and articulate manner.

Analyse and interpret large datasets to provide actionable insights on business performance, revenue, costs, and profitability.

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting processes.

Standardize and optimize financial reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Ensure data quality and integrity in all financial datasets and reports.

Contribute to budgeting, planning, and other key FP&A initiatives as needed.

Perform UAT, UVT and performance tests on new data.

Collaborate with data and analytics teams across bank to leverage vast data sets, analytic tools, and other resources to advance the quality and timeliness of analysis.

Provide requirements for data analysis and data structure to improve ability to generate scalable analytic solutions.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational qualification Bachelors / Master in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) from any reputed institute.

At least 3 years of hands-on experience in BFSI/ Fintech.

Demonstrated analytical skills to work through complex problems, manipulate and analyse large data sets, and produce actionable business insights.

Proficiency in extracting and manipulating data using SAS, Python, SQL, PostgreSQL with a strong focus on data integrity and accuracy, Advanced Excel for ad hoc data analysis, modelling and visualization.

Demonstrated analytical skills to work through complex problems, manipulate and analyse large data sets, and produce actionable business insights.

Strong command over SQL for data extraction and transformation.

Working experience in AWS environment for data access and analysis.

Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
