ROLE SYNOPSIS
The Data Analyst / Trade Analyst is the intelligence and analytics engine of the War Room. This role is responsible for monitoring global trade developments, market movements, competitor intelligence, pricing trends, currency fluctuations, export regulations, and internal business data impacting Basmati rice exports.
The individual will transform complex datasets, geopolitical developments, trade signals, and market intelligence into actionable dashboards, forecasts, reports, and executive briefs that directly support pricing strategy, market expansion, risk mitigation, and leadership decision-making.

MISSION STATEMENT
Convert data into intelligence, intelligence into strategy, and strategy into profitable global trade decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLESA. TRADE INTELLIGENCE & MARKET MONITORING (Daily)
- Track geopolitical developments across major Basmati export markets including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Iran, United Kingdom, and United States
- Monitor export notifications from Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India
- Track competitor activity in Pakistan and other rice-exporting countries
- Monitor currency movements and prepare market alerts
- Publish daily War Room market brief before 9:00 AM
B. DATA ANALYTICS & BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE
- Build interactive dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and Microsoft Excel
- Develop pricing dashboards, export performance dashboards, and market trend reports
- Analyze sales, shipment, inventory, and market data
- Create automated MIS reports for leadership
- Perform variance analysis, trend analysis, and predictive forecasting
- Develop rolling demand forecast models by market, SKU, and customer segment
C. COMPETITOR & MARKET ANALYSIS
- Track competitor pricing across domestic and international markets
- Analyze customs data, trade data, and import/export trends
- Identify new market opportunities, demand spikes, and supply disruptions
- Prepare weekly competitor intelligence reports
D. RISK & OPPORTUNITY ANALYSIS
- Build country risk dashboards
- Track sanctions, compliance risks, and payment exposure
- Generate opportunity alerts for market expansion or pricing advantage
- Generate risk alerts for regulatory, currency, or geopolitical events
E. WAR ROOM SUPPORT
- Support Business Development team with market intelligence
- Create pricing models and profitability analysis
- Conduct post-deal analysis
- Deliver ad-hoc research within 48 hours
Must Have Skills
