Job Description

This is an opportunity for a data analyst to build experience at a growing software company, in a supportive, diverse, and hardworking data team. This role involves analyzing data quality, applying data maintenance activities, and acquiring and integrating publicly available data into our proprietary data sets.

What You'll Do

  • Work with product managers to understand data quality requirements, data sources, and maintenance requirements.
  • Build quality checks, validation rules, and other processes to ensure data quality.
  • Configure web scrapes and ETL pipelines to integrate data sources into our systems.
  • Perform analyses and reporting to investigate data quality and support operational activities.
  • Develop and build ad hoc data transformations to clean data and fix quality issues.
  • Work with the Data Engineering team to help define requirements for ETL pipelines and other repeatable processes.
  • Coordinate with other Data Analysts on common processes, best practices, as well as peer reviews.
  • Document processes developed and work done.

Requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail, a meticulous approach, especially when working with data.
  • 2+ years of experience working as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Prior experience with Web-scraping.
  • Understanding of: SQL, Python, Regular expressions.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow written instructions, seek clarification where needed, and assess the output of a Web scrape against the written requirements.
  • Able to document work with precision and clarity.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with/understanding of: Web scraping platforms, XPath selectors, Document Object Model (DOM) AWS.
