Job Nexus India is hiring a Data Analyst Intern for a client organisation operating at the intersection of finance and technology. This is a high-impact internship designed for candidates interested in quantitative analysis, financial markets, and production-grade data engineering. The role involves real analytical work, not routine data entry.

Role Overview

The Data Analyst Intern will work closely with a quantitative research and trading team. The role requires writing production-level code to clean financial data, backtest trading strategies, automate reports, and build dashboards used for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Processing

• Build and maintain pipelines to collect, clean, and store financial market data
• Work with datasets such as stock prices, options data, and macroeconomic indicators

Strategy Analysis & Backtesting

• Backtest trading strategies using Python
• Calculate performance metrics such as P&L, drawdown, and Sharpe ratio

Dashboarding & Visualization

• Develop real-time dashboards using tools like Streamlit or Dash
• Visualize market signals and strategy outputs for internal stakeholders

Automation & Reporting

• Automate daily tasks such as end-of-day reports and morning data briefings
• Ensure data accuracy and reliability across automated workflows

Eligibility & Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy)
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Comfortable with tools like Slack and Zoom for daily communication
• Available for full-time commitment during market hours
• Strong interest in financial markets and quantitative analysis
• Familiarity with concepts such as order flow analysis is preferred
• Program Progression
• High-performing interns may be offered a full-time role or an extended engagement based on performance
• The work directly contributes to live analytical and trading decisions
