About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically proficient Data Analyst / Data Engineer Intern to join our Product & Technology team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining robust data pipelines, developing internal dashboards, and supporting data-driven workflows that underpin our operational and strategic initiatives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with large-scale databases, cloud-based data warehouses, and internal enterprise applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, ensuring data quality, integrity, and accessibility across our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in SQL and Python, an interest in data engineering and analytics, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of data fundamentals, including relational databases, data modeling, and SQL. Prior experience with Python scripting for data processing and automation is highly desirable. Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines, scheduled data workflows, and cloud-based data storage solutions such as AWS RDS and Redshift will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot data issues effectively. Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and tools like Postman will be beneficial. A proactive learner with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and a team-oriented mindset is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines across multiple sources including AWS RDS, Amazon Redshift, application databases, APIs, Google Sheets, and other internal systems.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and reporting purposes.
- Create Python scripts for ETL/ELT workflows, data validation, and automation to streamline data processing tasks.
- Monitor scheduled data workflows and troubleshoot pipeline failures, missing records, duplicates, and schema inconsistencies to ensure data integrity.
- Develop and implement data validation and reconciliation checks to maintain consistency between source systems and dashboards.
- Work with APIs and JSON payloads to facilitate data movement and integration between different applications.
- Document data sources, schemas, transformations, and dependencies to support ongoing maintenance and onboarding.
- Build and maintain operational dashboards, reports, and internal tools using Frappe Framework / ERPNext.
- Translate business requirements into structured datasets, KPIs, and interactive dashboard components for various teams.
- Debug data discrepancies, optimize dashboard performance, and improve data freshness and usability.
- Support basic frontend customization using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Frappe client/server scripting where necessary.
- Utilize tools like Postman for API testing, debugging, and workflow validation.
- Perform quality assurance on products and data before releases, and automate workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
- Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms for coding assistance, documentation, and debugging.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, SOPs, data dictionaries, and implementation notes for internal reference.
- Quickly adapt to new systems and work across multiple technology platforms to support ongoing projects.
