About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative SG 26 Analyst to join the Optum People Analytics team at UnitedHealth Group. This role is pivotal in delivering insights through data analysis and reporting that inform strategic HR decisions across various business units. Based in Gurugram, India, the analyst will work closely with consultants, people business partners (PBPs), and key stakeholders to ensure consistent analytics coverage and support for strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong stakeholder management skills, technical proficiency, and a proactive mindset, with a passion for enabling data-driven HR strategies. Responsibilities include managing Power BI dashboards, monitoring data quality, supporting standard and ad hoc reporting, and providing insights that drive workforce planning and decision-making.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Power BI and SQL for data visualization and dashboard development, along with advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis and reporting. A solid understanding of business and organizational structures, coupled with strong problem-solving abilities, is essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable recommendations. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required to support and train stakeholders effectively. The role demands a self-starter attitude, a mindset geared toward continuous improvement, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Knowledge of HR processes, metrics, and automation tools like Power Automate is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with analysts, consultants, PBPs, HR Operations, and cross-functional partners, primarily within OGA, Optum Tech, and Optum Corporate functions. Act as a trusted analytics advisor by helping stakeholders interpret dashboards, navigate tools, and apply insights to strategic workforce decisions. Regularly track key HR metrics such as headcount, attrition, and hiring patterns to identify anomalies and generate insights.
- Own the delivery of both ad hoc and recurring reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with business needs. Maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards, guiding users toward self-service solutions to improve efficiency and reduce duplication. Ensure consistency of data and metrics across all reporting outputs.
- Safeguard sensitive employee data by maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data privacy standards. Implement appropriate access controls and exercise discretion when working with personally identifiable information (PII) and confidential workforce data.
- Ensure data integrity and quality by proactively identifying, investigating, and resolving data issues. Collaborate with stakeholders to uphold data governance standards and monitor data quality continuously. Think critically to maintain high standards of data reliability.
- Support process improvements by identifying opportunities to streamline reporting workflows, consolidate outputs, and scale analytics delivery. Contribute to dashboard validation, project support, and participate in product council discussions to enhance analytics offerings.
