Job Description
We are looking for a Data Analyst who can collect, analyze, and interpret tech,startup, business and venture capital data to generate insights, reports, and dashboards. The role involves working with structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends in startup growth, funding patterns, and sector performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect data from multiple sources including public datasets, APIs, third-party platforms, and web research
- Clean, validate, and maintain datasets to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Analyze the number of startups across India and globally, including growth trends and geographic distribution
- Study registered vs unregistered startups using government and third-party datasets
- Analyze funding patterns across stages such as Seed, Series A, Series B, etc.
- Track venture capital firms in India and globally and analyze their investment behavior
- Identify sector-wise funding trends and determine the most preferred industries for investment
- Perform sector-wise deep analysis including growth rate, funding inflow, and key players
- Build dashboards and visual reports using tools like Power BI or Tableau
- Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on startup and funding trends
- Conduct predictive analysis to identify emerging sectors and future investment trends
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Editorial, Research, Product, and Leadership) to gather inputs, define requirements, and deliver actionable insights
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of SQL
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets
- Experience with Python (Pandas, NumPy) for data analysis
- Data visualization using Power BI or Tableau
- Understanding of data cleaning, transformation, and analysis
Good to Have
- Basic knowledge of Machine Learning or forecasting models
- Experience with APIs or web scraping
- Interest or prior exposure to startup or venture capital ecosystem
