Senior Data Analyst - Data Platform

Role Summary
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting Asia data modernization, IBOR/ABOR initiatives, and enterprise analytics. You will partner closely with Investment, Finance, Risk, and Technology teams to analyze complex datasets, define data requirements, and translate business needs into well‑governed, analytics‑ready data products.
This is a senior, business‑facing analytics role, requiring strong domain knowledge in asset management, a solid understanding of investment data (transactions, positions, valuations), and the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders. You will help replicate and extend key skill sets currently anchored in the team, enabling continuity and scale for Asia‑focused initiatives.
Your objective is to improve decision‑making, data transparency, and operational efficiency by ensuring high‑quality, reconciled, and well‑understood data is available for reporting, analytics, and regulatory use cases.
Key Accountabilities
Investment & Data Analysis
Analyze and interpret complex investment and accounting datasets (transactions, positions, cash, valuations) across asset classes.
Support Asia IBOR and ABOR initiatives, including data reconciliation, validation, and readiness for downstream reporting.
Partner with investment stakeholders to understand workflows, pain points, and analytical needs.
Data Requirements & Governance
Define and document data requirements, business rules, and analytical logic for enterprise data products.
Contribute to data governance artifacts, including data dictionaries, lineage, and quality checks.
Work closely with Business Team, Data Platform and Engineering teams to ensure analytical requirements are accurately implemented.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams, translating analytical needs into clear, actionable inputs.
Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI developers, and Product Owners to support self‑serve analytics and standardized reporting.
Participate in requirements elicitation, backlog refinement, and solution reviews.
Reporting & Insights
Support and validate datasets used in Power BI and enterprise reporting.
Perform root‑cause analysis, reconciliations, and exception reviews to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
Enable power users with clear, trusted data for decision‑making.
Competencies / Qualifications
8+ years of experience in data analytics within asset management, investment operations, or financial services.
Strong understanding of investment data domains including:
Trades / Transactions
Positions & holdings
Valuations, cash flows, and accounting data (IBOR / ABOR concepts)
CFA designation preferred, or currently pursuing CFA.
Experience working with front‑office, middle‑office, or finance stakeholders.
Strong Excel, SQL and Python skills and experience analyzing data in Snowflake or similar data platforms.
Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
Experience with data reconciliation, data quality checks, and governance frameworks.
Exposure to AI/LLM‑based data solutions is a plus.
Prior experience with Big4 or similar consulting background is a strong advantage.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
