The Data Manager supports the Global Multimedia Services Group (Video Production, Event Production, Technical Operations, and Executive Support) within the Operations function. This role is responsible for downloading weekly operational data, validating data integrity, cleaning and standardising datasets, and reconciling information across multiple internal systems. The Data Manager partners with local and global stakeholders to resolve data issues and ensure that accurate, complete, and timely usage and cost data is delivered for onward billing and reporting.
The Job
The Data Manager supports the Global Multimedia Services Group (Video Production, Event Production, Technical Operations, and Executive Support) within the Operations function. This role is responsible for downloading weekly operational data, validating data integrity, cleaning and standardising datasets, and reconciling information across multiple internal systems. The Data Manager partners with local and global stakeholders to resolve data issues and ensure that accurate, complete, and timely usage and cost data is delivered for onward billing and reporting.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Download and consolidate operational data from multiple in-house systems on a weekly cadence.
- Process, validate, and clean data in Excel to a very high standard (e.g., PivotTables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, Power Query, complex formulas); build repeatable templates and automated checks.
- Reconcile datasets against operational calendars and other source systems; investigate variances and escalate issues with clear supporting detail.
- Maintain and update project/work-order data, including project actuals, internal hours, and external costs, in partnership with global teams.
- Preparation of structured data for further analysis.
- Produce new excel reports as required, including ad hoc analysis to support operational and billing queries.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and recurring data-quality issues; propose corrective actions and process improvements.
- Continuously improve data collection, validation, and reporting processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and auditability.
- Provide weekly and monthly status updates on workload, data quality, and billing readiness; meet agreed deadlines and service levels.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in data, finance, business operations, analytics, or a related field.
- Advanced Excel proficiency (required): PivotTables, Power Query, complex formulas, data validation, and automation (VBA/macros preferred).
- Should know basics of SharePoint e.g. how to manipulate SharePoint Lists, how to create and design SP pages and sp libraries
- Experience supporting project or operational workflows, including tracking actuals, budgets, timelines, and vendor costs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data issues into clear actions for stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative approach when working across teams and time zones.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis for data discrepancies.
