Job Summary / Role Overview

As a Data & AI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing the firm's end-to-end data infrastructure. This includes orchestrating data pipelines, developing event-driven systems, and implementing AI-powered workflows.

You will act as the architect of the investment technology stack—bridging data engineering, business intelligence, and artificial intelligence to deliver actionable insights and automation across the investment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and monitor complex workflows using Apache Airflow (Cloud Composer) to ensure reliability and scalability of data pipelines
• Develop and maintain event-driven systems using Google Cloud Functions to process real-time triggers and workflows
• Build and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and BigQuery to ingest and transform multi-source datasets
• Create AI-driven workflows using Google AI Studio (Gemini) and n8n to automate processes such as investment memo generation and startup classification
• Design and maintain executive dashboards using Tableau and Airtable for deal flow tracking and portfolio insights
• Manage and optimize Airtable as a centralized source of truth across CRM and data systems
• Integrate third-party data sources and APIs (e.g., Crunchbase, LinkedIn, GitHub, PitchBook) into the data ecosystem
• Ensure data quality, governance, and performance across all systems
• Collaborate with investment teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions

Required Qualifications / What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role in a fast-paced environment
• Hands-on expertise with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration
• Strong experience building and deploying Google Cloud Functions using Python
• Advanced knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery
• Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and API integrations
• Experience with Airtable (including automations and scripting) and n8n for workflow orchestration
• Strong skills in building dashboards and reports using Tableau
• Experience implementing AI/ML solutions using Google AI Studio or Vertex AI (e.g., RAG, prompt engineering, agentic workflows)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Preferred Skills / Nice to Have

• Understanding of venture capital lifecycle (sourcing, due diligence, investment committee, portfolio management)
• Familiarity with financial concepts such as IRR, MOIC, and cap tables
• Experience with web scraping and data enrichment tools (e.g., PeopleDataLabs, Clearbit)
• Exposure to microservices architecture and event-driven systems
• Experience working in startups or high-growth environments

• 01:30 PM – 10:30 PM IST
