Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Whatfix builds software that helps people work - guiding users through complex applications in real time, across web, mobile, and desktop. Our Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) powers how companies create, distribute, and manage in-app guidance at scale. As we go AI-native across the platform, the design problems are getting harder, more novel, and more interesting.

We're hiring a Senior Product Designer to own design for a core area of the DAP product. This isn't a role for someone who needs a defined process to operate. It's a role for someone who can hold a clear vision for where the product is going, think through what matters next, and ship work that matters right now.

You'll report to , and work alongside other Product Designers to advance Whatfix's Digital Adoption Platform. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and UX Research in a cross-functional team structure.

This role is based in Bengaluru.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Product Design Across DAP

  • Own the end-to-end design of features across DAP's guidance creation, distribution, and management surfaces - web, mobile, and desktop.
  • Lead your domain from discovery through delivery: research, ideation, prototyping, specification, and handoff.
  • Define and maintain design quality within your product area - interaction models, usability standards, and consistency with the broader design system.
  • Scrutinize requirements. Push back when what's being asked for isn't the right thing to build.

AI-Native Design Work

  • Design for AI-powered features where patterns don't yet exist. That means inventing interaction models, not adapting existing ones.
  • Use AI tools actively in your own workflow - building functional POCs in code, running rapid experiments, pushing early versions to understand lived experience before it's polished.
  • Help define what AI-native UX means for digital adoption: for the customers building guidance, and for the end users receiving it.

Research and Experimentation

  • Lead qualitative and quantitative research for your product area.
  • Favor real-world experimentation over controlled environments. Get something working, get it in front of real users, and learn from how it actually behaves.
  • Synthesize findings into clear direction and present them to cross-functional partners and leadership with confidence.

Collaboration and Mentorship

  • Operate as a peer in planning and prioritization conversations - contributing to how problems are framed, not just how they're solved.
  • Mentor the junior designer joining the team. Share knowledge, give direct feedback, raise the bar.
  • Contribute to shared design standards and the evolution of design practices on the team.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required

  • 4+ years of product design experience in SaaS or enterprise software. You're a Senior Designer - not a mid-level on the path to senior.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates owning complex problem spaces end-to-end: research, design decisions, tradeoffs, and shipped work.
  • Active use of AI tools in your design workflow - building POCs, using LLMs for synthesis, working across Figma and code. Not aspirational. Current practice.
  • Strong interaction and UX design fundamentals - you know when to follow conventions and when to break them.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguity, on problems that don't have established answers.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing for enterprise SaaS platforms, particularly tools used by non-technical users or content authors.
  • Familiarity with digital adoption, in-app guidance, workflow automation, or onboarding experiences.
  • Experience designing agent management, AI-generated, or AI-assisted outputs.

HOW YOU'LL SHOW UP

  • You design to solve problems now. You hold a vision for the future, build shared understanding for what's next, and ship in the present. Work stays connected to current OKRs, not some future state that keeps moving.
  • You experiment to learn. A rough functional POC pushed to real users tells you more than weeks of structured testing. You're comfortable with that tradeoff.
  • You're clear and direct. You can articulate what you're designing, why, and what you're trading off. You expect the same from the people around you.
  • You're a peer, not an executor. You're in the room when problems are being framed, not just when solutions need to be drawn.
  • You're already working at the edge of AI.You're not waiting for the tools to mature or the patterns to be established. You're building now, learning from what you ship, and helping define what AI-native design actually means in practice.
