JOB OVERVIEW

Function Overview - Digital & Technology (Global Emerging Markets)

The GEMs Digital & Technology (D&T) team leads the digital transformation for General Mills across Global Emerging Markets (Central and Eastern Europe, Middle-east and Africa, North Europe, South-East Asia, India, Mexico and Latin America)

Our focus areas include:

  • Distributor Digitisation & Automation (Distributor Performance Management, CPFR (Collaborative Planning, Fo recasting & Replenishment), Trade Promotion, Inventory, Claims and end to end Supply Chain and AI)
  • AI-Driven Commercial Excellence (predictive analytics, assortment, pricing, data-driven decision making)
  • Supply Chain Digitisation (demand planning, control tower, forecasting, logistics tracking)
  • Data & Insights Transformation (real-time dashboards, data lake integration, KPI harmonisation)
  • Route-to-Market (RTM) Modernisation across 250+ distributors
  • Digital Product Development in partnership with Global & Market teams
  • Governance & Technology Deployment across multiple countries and business units

The team works as a strategic partner to the business - simplifying processes, modernising systems, and enabling growth through technology, data, and AI.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is to act as the bridge between business and technology.

This role ensures that business needs from Commercial, Sales, and Supply Chain teams are clearly understood, translated into functional requirements, and delivered as effective digital solutions.

The role supports:

  • Distributor Digitisation programs (DMS, SFA, Trade, Loyalty, DMS)
  • Data and analytics transformation (dashboards, predictive models)
  • Market expansion and capability building
  • Agile development through user stories, backlog management, and testing

This role is critical for ensuring clarity, speed, and quality in our digital delivery across GEMs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Business Analysis & Requirement Translation

  • Gather business requirements from Commercial, Sales, Supply Chain and Distributor teams.
  • Convert requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
  • Document business processes, KPIs, and pain points.

2. Support Distributor Digitisation

  • Understand primary/secondary sales, stock, claims, returns, beat plans, and trade programs.
  • Work with market teams to validate distributor requirements.
  • Support rollout of SFA, DMS, Trade solutions, and data integration.

3. Data & Analytics Support

  • Analyse data from SAP, SFA, DMS, TPM, Nielsen, POS, market reports.
  • Support dashboard development (Power BI/Tableau).
  • Identify trends, insights, and opportunities for performance improvement.

4. Agile Product Delivery

  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily scrum.
  • Work closely with engineers, data teams, product owners, and architects.
  • Support UAT, test scripts, validation, and go-live preparation.

5. Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with market managers, commercial leaders, demand planners, supply chain managers, and distributor partners.
  • Provide clear communication to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Manage expectations and ensure alignment across teams.

6. Support AI & Future-Ready Innovation

  • Identify digital and AI opportunities for automation, insights, or efficiency.
  • Stay updated on new tools, analytics methods, and best practices.
  • Bring a growth mindset to build future-ready digital capabilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Computer Science / IT or MBA in Marketing / Supply Chain / Operations / Analytics.
  • 3 to 10 years of experience in FMCG, Consumer Goods, Retail, or Distribution-heavy industries.
  • Prior experience as a Business Analyst / Functional Consultant / Product Analyst is preferred.
  • Hands-on exposure to any of the following: SFA, DMS, Trade Promotions, CRM, SAP, TPM, Demand Plannin g, Control Tower, ERP platforms.
  • Experience in data analysis and handling large datasets.
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments is a plus.


SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Business & Functional Skills

  • Strong understanding of FMCG distributor operations
  • Knowledge of primary sales, secondary sales, inventory, claims, trade schemes
  • Understanding of commercial and supply chain KPIs
  • Strong process mapping and documentation skills

Technical & Data Skills

  • Ability to work with data tables, reports, and dashboards
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, Excel, Power BI/Tableau
  • Understanding of API, data integration concepts is a plus
  • Awareness of AI/ML use-cases in FMCG
