About Role

We are looking for data scientists in the PuTC Data Science team. The Data Scientists will be responsible for designing

and executing undirected research and tackling open-ended data problems using advanced techniques in AI (Artificial

Intelligence), ML (Machine learning), DL (deep learning), and Large Language Models (LLMs). This role involves working

independently with very complex and large, multi-format datasets (often TB scale) across various industrial applications.

The individual will be a highly capable individual contributor, responsible for leading end-to-end solution development,

from initial ideation and Proof of Concept to robust production deployment. This includes deep technical contributions in

core data science, statistical analysis, data engineering (ETL), and interactive dashboard creation. They will collaborate

with various cross-functional teams and external clients, providing periodic updates through presentations and prototype

demonstrations, and often managing multiple simultaneous high-impact projects. The ability to build scalable, cloudnative

AI/ML solutions, develop interactive data visualizations, and automate data ingestion pipelines for diverse client

deployments is critical.

Responsibilities

Assimilate next-generation technologies for data-driven solutions in oil and gas domain

Generate innovative ideas, establish new research directions, and shape and execute on research projects

Apply engineering knowledge in developing data-driven algorithms and prototypes for classification,

regression, anomaly detection, failure prediction, and optimization

Collaborate with business and engineering teams to implement robust and scalable industrial software

solutions

Contribute to technical discussions and undertake reviews of different projects as an expert

Communicate ideas, plans, and results effectively to different stake holders

Participate in technical forums and other appropriate events and conferences

Qualifications and Requirements:

M.S/MTech/PhD in computer science, mathematics, physics, applied sciences, engineering or similar disciplines with demonstrated research capability

Min 4 to 7 years of experience in development of data science algorithms.

Proven experience in developing core machine learning algorithms in professional research and development settings

Require Strong knowledge of machine learning and deep learning algorithms and their application to time series analysis, text analytics/NLP, computer vision etc

Strong expertise in ETL processes, data manipulation, and data quality assurance.

Knowledge of developing deep learning models using TensorFlow, Keras, Pytorch, LLM etc.

Expert-level proficiency in Python and its data science ecosystem (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).

Proven experience with R for statistical analysis, data visualization, and web applications (e.g., RShiny).

Extensive hands-on experience with Dataiku for building and orchestrating automated data science workflows.

Proven expertise in developing complex, interactive dashboards and data visualization solutions

Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex data querying, manipulation, and optimization.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred

Strong knowledge of optimization, sensor processing

Strong Knowledge of DataIku

Knowledge of designing distributed and parallelized algorithms for ML applications

Understanding and experience in Oil and Gas domain

Knowledge of designing distributed and parallelized algorithms for ML applications.

Experience in processing and managing large data sets (TB scale).

Familiarity with C# for plugins creation or other development tasks.

Familiarity with petrophysical analysis software like Ocean for Techlog and scripting for automation within such environments.

Track records of past publications in relevant topics.

Prior experience leading technical projects or mentoring junior data scientists.
