Role Description The Cybersecurity Intern | (WAA P01) will support the team in research, analysis, and implementation of cybersecurity best practices across various projects. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting in security assessments, helping review application, network, and information security controls, and contributing to documentation and reporting. The intern will also help monitor emerging cyber threats, participate in awareness and training initiatives, and support the design of basic security guidelines and procedures. This is an internship role with flexible learning opportunities, designed to build practical skills and exposure in cybersecurity. This is a remote role, allowing the intern to collaborate with the team and complete assignments online.
Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge in Cybersecurity and Cyber risk concepts, with a strong interest in learning and applying security principles.
  • Basic understanding of Network Security and Information Security, including common threats, vulnerabilities, and protective measures.
  • Exposure to Application Security practices, such as secure coding concepts or understanding of typical application vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to research security topics, analyze technical information, and document findings clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent self-directed learning).
  • Familiarity with basic security tools, operating systems, or scripting languages is a plus.
