Role Description

We are looking for a Cybersecurity / Application Security Engineer to support the security of our mobile and backend systems.

This is a fixed-term role for 2 months, with the opportunity to convert to a full-time position based on performance and business requirements.

You will work closely with engineering teams to identify security risks, support secure development practices, and contribute to application security improvements across mobile applications, backend services, and ML systems.

What You'll Work On

• Assist with threat modeling and risk analysis for mobile apps and backend APIs
• Support secure key handling, encryption practices, and token management
• Contribute to application security hardening for Android and backend services
• Review code and configurations for common security issues
• Help integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines (static analysis, dependency checks)
• Support logging, monitoring, and audit readiness efforts
• Participate in vulnerability assessments and remediation tracking
• Assist in preparing security documentation and internal playbooks
• Collaborate with teams during security reviews and partner due-diligence processes

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of application security fundamentals
• Experience or coursework related to mobile or backend security
• Basic knowledge of cryptography concepts and secure authentication
• Familiarity with OWASP principles for application and mobile security
• Ability to document findings clearly and communicate risks effectively
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Exposure to fintech, payments, or regulated technology environments
• Experience with vulnerability assessments or security testing tools
• Familiarity with security documentation or audit processes
• Interest in growing into a full-time AppSec / security engineering role
