Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent professional experience of at least five years in cybersecurity and compliance environments. Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or Azure Virtual certifications are highly preferred. A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, including familiarity with security tools like SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF, is essential. Knowledge of regulatory standards such as NIST, SOC 2, and PCI/DSS is required. Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a demonstrated eagerness to learn and develop new skills. Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Cyber Security Engineer include deploying, configuring, and maintaining security tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDPS, and WAF to safeguard organizational assets. You will monitor security alerts and events to identify potential threats proactively and respond to incidents effectively by investigating, analyzing, documenting, and reporting security breaches. Participating in incident response activities and assisting in remediation efforts are critical aspects of the role. Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards like HIPAA, HITECH, and SOC 2 through regular assessments and audits is also part of your duties.
You will evaluate vendor and supply chain security practices to mitigate risks and develop comprehensive vendor risk management programs. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to coordinate security and compliance projects, ensuring timely and within-scope delivery, is essential. Managing cloud security in environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP by implementing best practices and security controls will be a key responsibility. Staying updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies through continuous learning and professional development is encouraged to maintain a robust security posture.
