This role involves monitoring and defending against security breaches, assessing vulnerabilities, and implementing effective security measures.
Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and potential threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive information.
- Respond to security incidents and breaches, performing forensic analysis as necessary.
- Develop and update security policies and procedures to enhance organizational security posture.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends and threats.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system configurations and patches.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 2-12 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are preferred.
