Responsibilities:
Compliance & Regulations
- Ensure compliance with customs laws, import–export regulations, and trade policies.
- Stay updated with customs notifications, tariff changes, and duty structures.
- Adhere to government regulations such as Customs Act, DGFT, FEMA, and other statutory requirements.
Coordination with Authorities
- Liaise with customs officials for smooth clearance of goods.
- Coordinate inspections, examinations, and assessments of consignments.
- Resolve customs queries, objections, or delays promptly.
Shipment & Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, CHA agents, and transporters.
- Monitor cargo movement and ensure timely release of shipments.
- Handle port, airport, and bonded warehouse operations.
Duties, Taxes & Valuation
- Calculate customs duties, taxes, and applicable charges.
- Ensure correct valuation and classification of goods.
- Process duty payments and refunds, if applicable.
