Project Role : Custom Software Engineer

Project Role Description : Develop custom software solutions to design, code, and enhance components across systems or applications. Use modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs.

Must have skills : AS/400 COBOL 400 (Programming Language)

Good to have skills : NA

Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education

Job Description – AS/400 (IBM I) Developer

Experience: 4–10+ years (flexible based on profile)

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on IBM iSeries(AS/400)

Develop and enhance programs using RPG / RPGLE (Free-format preferred), CL/CLLE, COBOL

ILE concepts and modular programming

Work with DB2/400 for IBM iSeries for database development and performance tuning

Analyze business requirements and provide technical solutions

Perform debugging, root cause analysis, and production issue resolution

Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities

Maintain technical documentation and follow coding standards

Support batch jobs, interfaces, and scheduled processes

Support deployment process and prepare compliance documents for deployments

Required Skills:

Strong experience with AS/400 / IBM iSeries platform

Proficiency in RPG, RPGLE, Free RPG, CL, CLLE

Hands-on experience with DB2/400 (DB2 for i)

Experience with interactive and batch programs

Knowledge of display files, printer files, and subfiles

Good to Have:

Exposure to integration with modern systems / APIs

Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies

Knowledge of change management tools (Aldon, TurnOver, etc.)
