Job Description

Job Purpose

The Shelter Janitor will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the shelter. The Janitor will work closely with the Shelter Manager and other staff members to ensure that the shelter is clean, safe, and comfortable for residents.

Education, Experience And Requirements

  • Knowledge of proper cleaning, washing, and disinfection techniques.
  • Familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE) and its proper usage.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills to interact with clients and other staff members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Work schedule: 4hours a Day 5 days a week and flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed.
  • Primary location: Enoch Cree Nation, with occasional travel to various sites.
  • Physical fitness required (ability to walk, climb stairs, lift to 50 lbs, etc.).
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.
  • Must sign and adhere to the Enoch Cree Nation Confidentiality Agreement upon hire.
