Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Technical Leader to join our team and take charge of defining and driving the long-term platform architecture for our on-premise UC systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the scalability, resiliency, operability, and security of our systems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead a team, contribute to code and design, and make a significant impact on our business-critical operations.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement a robust platform architecture for scalability and performance.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Directly contribute to code development using C++, Python/Java, and shell scripting on Linux platforms.
- Architect and manage virtualization and deployment across various models, including ESXi, Nutanix, and cloud services.
- Optimize build processes and orchestrate dependencies to enhance engineering productivity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on build times and overall efficiency.
- Own and resolve critical customer escalations, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in UC platforms, clustering, and Informix workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and best practices, especially in SELinux and PAM controls.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering with a proven track record of technical leadership.
- Expert-level knowledge of Linux and distributed systems, with a strong understanding of ESXi, Nutanix, and cloud deployment models.
- Deep expertise in containerization technologies and an ability to lead virtualization initiatives.
- Proficiency in SELinux, Linux PAM controls, and performance profiling techniques.
- Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering tools for code optimization and debugging.
- Familiarity with UC platforms, VoIP, SIP/XMPP, messaging, and voicemail technologies is preferred.
- Knowledge of OpenSSL, BC FIPS, and crypto libraries is an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with diverse teams.
- A passion for technology and a commitment to staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
