Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CTVS Surgeon to join our cardiothoracic and vascular surgery department. The candidate will be responsible for performing complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures, managing pre- and post-operative care, and contributing to high-quality patient outcomes in a multidisciplinary cardiac care setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and surgically manage patients with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular conditions.
  • Perform surgeries such as CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic surgeries, congenital heart defect repairs (where applicable), thoracic surgeries, and major vascular procedures.
  • Manage emergency cardiac and vascular surgical cases.
  • Provide comprehensive pre-operative assessment and surgical planning.
  • Deliver post-operative care in coordination with ICU and critical care teams.
  • Participate in heart team discussions and multidisciplinary case reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain detailed surgical documentation and patient records.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement programs, and academic activities where applicable.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • MBBS with MS/DNB in General Surgery.
  • MCh/DNB in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (or equivalent recognized super-specialty qualification).
  • Valid medical license to practice.
  • Board certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1 years of post-super-specialty experience in cardiothoracic surgery.

Required Skills And Competencies

  • Expertise in adult cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiopulmonary bypass management and cardiac critical care.
  • Ability to handle high-risk and emergency surgical cases.
  • Excellent surgical precision and decision-making skills.
  • Strong teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities.
  • Effective communication and patient counseling skills.
