About The Opportunity

Healthcare Tertiary cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgical services. We are a high-acuity clinical program in India delivering complex adult and paediatric cardiothoracic and vascular care, including coronary, valvular, aortic and thoracic procedures. This is an on-site surgical position focused on delivering best-in-class outcomes, clinical governance and team-led perioperative care.

Primary Title: Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgeon

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform a broad range of open and hybrid cardiothoracic and vascular operations (CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic surgery, thoracic resections and select congenital procedures) with independent operative decision-making.
  • Manage end-to-end perioperative care: pre-operative assessment, intra-operative leadership, post-operative ICU rounds and management of mechanical circulatory support (ECMO/IABP) and complications.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care with cardiac anaesthesia, perfusion, critical care, cardiology and nursing to optimise patient pathways, reduce LOS and improve clinical outcomes.
  • Drive quality and safety: implement evidence-based protocols, participate in M&M reviews, maintain surgical checklists and report outcomes through audits.
  • Mentor and train junior surgeons, residents and surgical staff; contribute to skills development, simulation training and surgical education activities.
  • Contribute to program growth through clinical governance, outcome-driven initiatives, research activity and patient pathway optimisation.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • MBBS with MCh/ DNB (Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery) or equivalent and valid Indian medical registration.
  • Minimum 5+ years post-qualification operative experience in cardiothoracic surgery with independent experience in CABG and valve procedures.
  • Hands-on proficiency with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), familiarity with ECMO/IABP management and working knowledge of intraoperative TEE.
  • Strong clinical judgement, leadership in high-acuity settings and excellent patient/family communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with complex aortic surgery, minimally invasive thoracic approaches, hybrid procedures or paediatric congenital cardiac operations.
  • Track record of clinical audit, publications or prior tenure at a high-volume tertiary cardiac centre.
