CTO - Robotics/ AI/ ML (5-10 years of experience)

Responsibilities:

Lead all R&D in Chennai

Robotics, AI/ML, embedded, mechanical, and electrical engineering

Hands-on system architecture and development

Prototype, test, iterate, and deploy

Technical liaison with Client

Participate in joint technical reviews

Coordinate workshare and documentation under the JDA

IP discipline

Maintain idea logs and technical documentation

Support patentable innovation and defensible IP creation

Build and scale the Chennai R&D team

Good to Have:

Engineer with a Master's degree (M.Tech / MS or equivalent) in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Computer Science (AI / ML / Robotics)

Degree must be from a Tier-1 Indian engineering institution or an equivalent global university.

Prior 5-10 years of strong hands-on engineering capability.

Background in Robotics, Automation, Embedded systems, AI / ML applied to physical systems

Experience in fast-moving product or R&D environments

Exposure to Medtronic or similar safety-critical, high-reliability product environments, such as: Medical devices, Precision robotics, and Advanced industrial automation

Familiarity with: Design discipline and documentation; Failure analysis (FMEA); Verification and validation practices

Robotics and Automation: Robotics arms, cobots, gantries; Sensors, actuators, motion control; Industrial controllers and PLCs; System integration and field debugging

Computer vision (surface detection, defect detection, tracking); ML / DL model development and deployment; Edge AI (Jetson, embedded GPUs, real-time inference); AI integrated into closed-loop robotic systems

Embedded systems; ROS / ROS2 (preferred); Python, C++, or similar; Real-time or near real-time systems
